Time sure has a way of slipping by. Since January I have managed to join Weight watchers and return to fitness USA gym. I have had lots of ups and downs with this new journey. The weight isn't coming off like I had hoped for, but for a few weeks I didn't work out much and I ate and ate. Guess, I am a eater of self pity of why me, why is life tough and why isn't anyone listening to me. I had lost 7 pounds in the first month, then bam I gained 5 pounds back. After having a chat with my family doctor, she reaffirmed me I need to continue to take care of myself for myself. I have always been on the heavy side all my life and have never thought of my eating as a problem solver. Eat when I'm upset, eat when I'm bored, eat whenever and whatever I want. Turning 50 has really made me think, what the heck was I thinking all those years. This fluffy belly of mine has got to go. I'm back on track and need to go get weighted in again this week. Even if the scales doesn't show a loss. I have made it to the gym 5 nights a week once again.
I sorted out my clothes once again, taking those smaller jeans out of my drawer. To remind myself why I'm doing this journey. Even though I have hung onto them for years, I plan on at least putting them on again when I have lost enough. Back some 20 years ago, I lost a ton of weight, only to put it back on, plus more. Wow, those jeans are older than the hills.
A great friend of mine sent me a devotional book to read everyday for a year as my 50th birthday wish. As my journey has lead me back into my leading my life for God. I have turned my life over to him. I will know God more this year because of my great friend. Life doesn't always turn out the way one wants it to, but I do know God is in charge. I have been hand writing lots of different journals for my daughter and grand kids to read some day as a link into the way I am who I am. Plus a journal as to what we do with the grand kids, as places we go and times we spend together. Makes me think of Jesus saying "tell the people the when they ask who I am" I am who I am. Not sure if I'm saying it right or not, as I'm not very far into reading the Bible.
